Enrichment activities with
We offer robotics activities that provide a hands-on introduction to technology. Students can create animated artefacts and try out ideas for themselves. With the help of educational robots, even young children can learn the basics of robot control and programming in a few hours. In our workshops, students learn how technical systems are developed and that technology can be great fun.
We have also developed a programme of lessons and activities that engage students in algebra at Key Stages 2, 3 & 4.
Our activities are affordable and provide students with an engaging and memorable experience. Each participant is awarded a certificate and badge on successful completion. The provision will also add appreciable value to your school.
For many reasons, the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robotics system is widely regarded as the best for educational purposes. Its durability, versatility, ease of use and technical sophistication make it excellent value for money and it is supported by a vast international community of devotees, numerous websites, dozens of textbooks and several ‘third-party’ manufacturers of advanced sensors and actuators.
Many students are familiar with the LEGO® TECHNIC system and happily spend hours using it to build working models of vehicles, machines, etc. As an extension of that system, MINDSTORMS® is relatively easy for them to grasp, and their enthusiasm for LEGO® products carries them past the initial hurdles of mastering the graphical programming language (known as NXT-G) and the use of sensors and actuators.
